Hitachi plays dumb in shunning notebooks
About time :)I've been waiting for this. For years it's seemed a little absurd for companies to place expensive, complicated, buggy, security holes, a.k.a., full-featured PCs, on user's desktops. To heck with Citrix, et al, give 'em a dumb terminal to do their WORK. No viruses/spyware, no...

Dumb is in the eye of the beholder
I just published Deb Shinder's list of "10 dumb thingsusers do that can mess up their computers," and not surprisingly, ithas sparked a fairly edgy discussionthat touches on users' intractability or inability to learn basic practicesand develop a little tech self-reliance. Also included in this mix is thefailure of many...

Diving for the exit
The thing that always seems most dangerous and stupid to me is those folks on a multilane highway who are out of position as their exit apporaches and dive across 3 or 4 lanes of traffic to make their exit. One day on my way to work on...
